About
Who we are and what we do
CRexcursions was created in the belief that in these changing times new recreational solutions would be created to serve local communities and their visitors.
To provide a viable solution, we defined specific criteria that must be met:
- The ability to benefit the community as a whole
- Economically sustainable
- Environmentally responsible
Concept
We have taken this venture from an idea (dream) to proving its viability (Phase 1).
Development
In 2004 we established an agreement with the Grand River Hospital to use part of a building as a shop. Over the course of the next few years, we have designed and built a unique electric-powered tram system, excursion and service vehicles that provide recreational excursion services.
In 2005 we established an agreement with a local developer/land owner to build a prototype “Recreational Eco-Park” on a 100 acre parcel of land that was in a mostly natural state. We created trails, scenic enjoyment areas, and unique amenities on the property.
Experience
We established an agreement with the City of Kitchener and the Grand River Conservation Authority and in 2007 we began operations of the electric-powered tram service on the Walter Bean – Grand River Trail in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Since then we have taken hundreds of seniors (mostly in groups) and some physically challenged people for tours. We also provided tours for several social groups, families and couples. Even some individuals enjoyed an outing.
From 2005 to 2008 we tested various types of outings and hosted a corporate event in the “Eco-Park”.
We have also provided our services at numerous community events and participated in several parades.
Service
We offer:
- Assistance in the development of Recreational Eco-Parks
- Edutaining presentations and training based programs
